ICEYE, ST Engineering Partner to Develop South East Asia Markets for SAR Imagery and Analytics

Helsinki, FINLAND – October 7, 2019 – ICEYE, the global leader in small satellite synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) technology, announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a commercial reseller agreement with ST Engineering Geo-Insights Pte Ltd. to serve the commercial and government markets in South East Asia. 

As a part of the agreement, the two companies will provide mutual support to develop the regional and global market for rapid revisit, high resolution SAR imagery and SAR based geospatial analytics.

Two ICEYE SAR Satellites Commissioned, Added to Constellation

Helsinki, FINLAND – September 12, 2019 (ICEYE PR) – ICEYE, the leader in small synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, today announced its two SAR satellites launched in July 2019 have finalized their initial commissioning, and are available for customer data orders.

The company now provides standardized commercial imaging access to three of its SAR satellite units, in addition to serving a number of customers with custom data products and solutions. ICEYE is set to launch two more SAR satellite units by the end of 2019 to further increase the commercial availability and coverage of the globe with the company’s constellation.

ICEYE Releases World-First Under 1-Meter Resolution Radar Imagery from SAR Microsatellites

HELSINKI, August 9, 2019 (ICEYE PR) – ICEYE, the global leader in small satellite synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) technology, is the first in the world to achieve better-than 1 meter resolution imagery from under-100kg (220 pounds) SAR satellites.

The new Spotlight imaging capability builds on ICEYE’s legacy of leading the way on small satellite SAR since its history-making first small SAR satellite launch in January 2018. Since then the company has continued to launch more satellites, latest in July 2019 with two new units. With new satellites being launched still during 2019, ICEYE continues to develop and optimize its imaging capabilities further for customers in both commercial and government segments.

ICEYE Constellation Announced as European Space Agency’s Third Party Mission Under Evaluation

European Space Agency’s data assessment of ICEYE’s SAR Satellite Constellation continues through the Earthnet Data Assessment Pilot (EDAP) framework.

HELSINKI, Aug. 1, 2019 – ICEYE, the global leader in small satellite synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) technology, today announced its SAR satellite constellation is now considered a Third Party Mission under evaluation for the European Space Agency (ESA). As a result, a continued analysis of ICEYE’s SAR data from its satellites will be performed under the framework of the Earthnet Data Assessment Pilot (EDAP).

Japanese SAR Satellite Startup Synspective Raises US $100 Million

TOKYO (Synspective PR) — Synspective Inc.,is a Japanese startup which provides satellite data solutions using small sized SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites.

The company accumulated $100 million USD in funding since its foundation in February 2018. Raising that amount in less than 17 months makes Synspective the world’s fastest and Japan’s second highest funded space startup. The investment will help strengthen the company’s SAR satellite development, manufacturing systems, and solutions development.

ICEYE, South Korea’s APSI Sign Strategic Alliance

HELSINKI, June 13 (ICEYE PR) – ICEYE, the leader in small synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, and Asia Pacific Satellite Inc. (APSI), announced today the signing of their strategic alliance agreement and further SAR data purchases in South Korea.

This strategic alliance and SAR reseller agreement, signed on May 27, follows the recent announcement of the two organizations signing a memorandum of understanding to support the South Korean New Space Market.

SpaceX Falcon 9 Set to Lift off Wednesday with 3 Canadian Radarsats

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (SpaceX PR) — SpaceX is targeting Wednesday, June 12 for launch of RADARSAT Constellation Mission from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

The primary launch window opens at 7:17a.m. PDT, or 14:17UTC, and closes at 7:30 a.m. PDT, or 14:30 UTC. The satellites will begin deployment approximately 54 minutes after launch. A backup launch window opens on Thursday, June13 at 7:17a.m. PDT, or 14:17 UTC,and closes at 7:30 a.m. PDT, or 14:30 UTC.

Falcon 9’s first stage for launch of RADARSAT Constellation Mission previously supported Crew Dragon’s first demonstration mission in March 2019. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage will return to land on SpaceX’s Landing Zone 4 (LZ-4) at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

GUILDFORD, UK (SSTL PR) — Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) has signed an agreement with Antrix Corporation Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), for the launch into a 580km sun-synchronous orbit of NovaSAR-1, a small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, and SSTL S1-4, a high resolution Earth observation satellite. The two satellites will launch on PSLV-C42, due to lift-off in September 2018.

NASA ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar Satellite Moving Forward

A joint collaboration between NASA and ISRO to orbit an advanced synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging satellite is moving forward toward a 2021 launch date as engineers at the two agencies learn to work together effectively, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) assessment.

“The NISAR project continues to track a risk that process differences between NASA and its development partner, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), could negatively affect cost and schedule, but a recent project assessment concluded that collaboration between the two organizations has been effective,” the GAO report stated.

ICEYE Announces Agreement with KSAT for Maritime and Ice Monitoring Data

HELSINKI, Finland, March 7, 2018 (ICEYE PR) – ICEYE, the leader in synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) technology for microsatellites, today announced an agreement with Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) to purchase SAR satellite tasking and data from ICEYE. Microsat Systems Canada Selects MDA to Provide Microsatellite Synthetic Aperture Radar (MSAR)

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (MSCI PR) – Microsat Systems Canada Inc (“MSCI”) announced today that they have selected MDA, a Maxar Technologies company, to provide the payload for a MSCI’s microsatellite based Synthetic Aperture Radar.

The MSAR satellite will have a wet mass of less than 180 kg, fit within a standard ESPA ring launch volume, and will provide a ground resolution of less than 1 meter.

ICEYE Launches World’s First Successful SAR Microsat

Helsinki, FINLAND  (ICEYE PR) – ICEYE, the leader in synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) technology for microsatellites providing expanded access to reliable and timely earth observation data, today announced the successful launch of its proof-of-concept satellite mission, ICEYE-X1, on ISRO’s PSLV-C40 rocket.

The success of the launch, from Satish Dhawan Space Center in India, distinguishes ICEYE-X1 as the world’s first microsatellite equipped with synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) to ever be deployed in space and as Finland’s very first commercial satellite. Making further history, ICEYE has also successfully established communications with the 70 kg satellite at 05:20, GMT (07:20 Finland time) now in orbit, signaling the next step in the mission’s success.
