Exolaunch Delivers 30 Small Satellites into Orbit on SpaceX’s First Dedicated Rideshare Launch

BERLIN (Exolaunch PR) — Exolaunch, the leading rideshare launch and deployment services provider for the NewSpace industry, announced a successful launch of 30 commercial, space agency, and university satellites for its customers from Europe and the U.S. on the first dedicated rideshare mission of SpaceX’s SmallSat Rideshare Program. The mission, named “Zeitgeist,” lifted off on January 24 at 15:00 UTC on Falcon 9 “Transporter-1,” completing one of the largest and most diverse rideshare missions for Exolaunch.

Zeitgeist kicked-off the first of several rideshares Exolaunch will manifest on Falcon 9 as part of a multi-launch agreement with SpaceX. On this mission, Exolaunch provided deployment, mission management and integration services to the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Dresden Technical University, ICEYE, NanoAvionics and other commercial companies for IoT, Earth observation and scientific applications.

SpaceX Launches Record 143 Satellites

SpaceX set a new world record on Sunday by launching 143 satellites into Earth orbit aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.

The Sunday morning polar orbit launch included 133 commercial and government spacecraft along with 10 satellites for SpaceX’s Starlink broadband communications constellation. The launch was conducted from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Exolaunch Integrates 30 Small Satellites for SpaceX First Dedicated Rideshare Launch

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (Exolaunch PR)–Exolaunch, the leading rideshare launch and deployment services provider for the NewSpace industry, begins its launch campaign to integrate 30 small satellites from the U.S. and Europe aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rideshare mission scheduled for no earlier than January 2021. This is the first dedicated rideshare mission of SpaceX’s SmallSat Rideshare Program and the first of several rideshares Exolaunch is manifesting on Falcon 9 as part of a multi-launch agreement the company signed with SpaceX earlier this year.

NanoAvionics Invests and Expands in the UK

BASKINSTOKE, UK, October 28, 2020 (NanoAvionics PR) — NanoAvionics, a leading nanosatellite bus manufacturer and mission integrator, is expanding its space sector business in the United Kingdom by moving to a new, larger facility for satellite assembly, integration and testing (AIT) as well as sales, technical support and R&D activities in Basingstoke (50 miles/80 km outside Central London) this month.

Having already developed a hub in Lithuania and two in the USA, the move, entirely financed by NanoAvionics, is a first step for its UK growth plans by creating jobs in the space sector and a local technology cluster with a dedicated supply chain of companies in Britain.

International Consortium Adds Hyperspectral Imaging, Communication Payloads to NanoAvionics’ D-2/AtlaCom-1 Rideshare Mission

COLUMBIA, Ill. (NanoAvionics PR) — NanoAvionics, a leading nanosatellite bus manufacturer and mission integrator, has revealed the remaining three payloads of its ‘D-2/AtlaCom-1’ rideshare mission hosted on board its M6P 6U nanosatellite bus. The additional payloads, a camera for hyperspectral remote sensing, a new high-gain X-band antenna and an upgraded X-Band downlink transmitter, are all part of an international collaboration by an international consortium and its partners called “HyperActive”.

The consortium partners for this international collaboration comprise Dragonfly Aerospace (South Africa), Space JLTZ (Mexico) and NanoAvionics US as a supplier to the consortium, as well as mission contributors Polytechnical University of Atlacomulco (Mexico), and CubeCom (South Africa).

NanoAvionics Enters India’s Space Market Through Partnership with Ananth Technologies

VILNIUS, Lithuania (NanoAvionics PR) — NanoAvionics, a multinational nanosatellite mission integrator, has signed a partnership agreement with Ananth Technologies Ltd (ATL) which marks NanoAvionics’ entry into India’s growing NewSpace industry.

The agreement makes Ananth Technologies the official distributor of NanoAvionics’ products and services in India, giving companies one stop access to cost-effective small, micro and nanosatellites including subsystems. The local access will save them time and cost for assembly, integration and test of at Ananth’s facilities in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Customers will also have access to low-cost launch service, using ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), and post launch operation services. In addition, this partnership between NanoAvionics and Ananth Technologies is going to foster relationships with Indian research institutions and suppliers.

ESA Awards €1 Million to NanoAvionics to Develop New Satellite Propulsion Technologies

VILNIUS, Lithuania (NanoAvioncs PR) — The European Space Agency (ESA) has granted 1 million euros ($1.1 million) to nanosatellite mission integrator NanoAvionics to develop key components for small satellite propulsion systems.

The new propulsion technologies, with a thrust of up to 5N, aim to further reduce the cost of small satellite projects while making each satellite more reliable, propellant supply chains safer, and constellations more economical. Based on those components a new generation of propulsion systems for small satellites will be used in future ESA missions, and available to commercial satellite operators across the world.

Satellites for NASA Funded AERO-VISTA Mission to be Built by NanoAvionics

COLUMBIA, Ill.(NanoAvionics PR) — NanoAvionics has received a contract to build two nano-satellites for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AERO-VISTA mission team at NanoAvionics’ recently opened manufacturing facility in Columbia, Illinois, USA.

Funded by NASA’s H-TIDeS (Heliophysics Technology and Instrument Development for Science program), the mission is led by MIT and includes several partners: MIT Haystack Observatory, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Merrimack College, Dartmouth College, and Morehead State University. Morehead State is responsible for bus contracting and ground operations services.

NASA’s New Solar Sail System to be Tested On-Board NanoAvionics Satellite Bus

COLUMBIA, Ill. (NanoAvionics PR) — NanoAvionics has been selected to build a 12U  nanosatellite bus for an in-orbit demonstration of  NASA’s Advanced Composite Solar Sail System (ACS3). This a result of a contract between NASA Ames Research Center and AST for a 12U bus to carry NASA’s  payload into low Earth orbit (LEO) including an approximately 800 square foot (74 square meter) composite boom and solar sail system.

NanoAvionics, Mexican Space Agency Introduce a Nanosatellite Pilot Project for Future Missions

Columbia, Illinois, USA, 17 April 2020 – Nanosatellite manufacturer and mission integrator NanoAvionics, together with the Mexican Space Agency (AEM) and students from the Polytechnic University of Atlacomulco will develop first the nanosatellite for the State of Mexico, (one of the most important states of the country), the AtlaCom-1. Building the nanosatellite is part of a pilot project to establish a nanosatellite infrastructure for future space missions designed and built by Mexico’s youth.

New Satellite Mission Contract and Second US Office for NanoAvionics

COLUMBIA, Ill., (NanoAvionics PR) – NanoAvionics announced the reception of a full mission contract for two 6U nanosatellites and the opening of a new sales and engineering support office in Columbia (IL), USA. The mission contract includes payload integration, launch and operation services for the two nanosatellites, both of which are based on NanoAvionics’ pre-configured M6P bus. The launch of both satellites is planned for the end of this year.

Space Video Company Sen Awards Multimillion-euro Contract to NanoAvionics

LONDON (NanoAvionics PR) – Sen, a British space company establishing video streaming media to provide real-time and timely Ultra-High Definition (UHD) video of Earth, has contracted NanoAvionics to build the first five nano-satellites of its constellation.

Sen has already demonstrated its technology of streaming ultra-high definition (UHD) video from space. It is now focused on developing its “EarthTV” constellation of nano-satellites to stream real-time and timely videos from space. The service, which will include a freely accessible app for individuals, will be used for monitoring environmental events and natural disasters such as wild fires, floods and storms, as well as monitoring climate change and movement of large groups of people.

NanoAvionics, KSAT & Antwerp Space Raise €10 Million for Internet of Things Constellation

VILNIUS, Lithuania (NanoAvionics PR) – NanoAvionics, an international nano-satellite missions integrator, and the consortium partners KSAT (Kongsberg Satellite Services) and Antwerp Space have been awarded EUR 10 million [$11.34 million] funding by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020, ESA’s ARTES and private investors. The funding is for the first demonstration of the pre-cursor stage of the Global Internet of Things (GIoT) nano-satellite constellation with one or more IoT/M2M (machine-to-machine) service providers as pilot customers. The consortium will not enter the IoT/M2M business directly. Instead it will offer a GIoT constellation-as-a-service in a B2B setup to existing and emerging IoT/M2M operators.
