EUTELSAT KONNECT Satellite Selected by Intersat for Internet Connectivity Over Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Senegal

PARIS (Eutlelsat PR) — Eutelsat Communications (Paris:ETL) (Euronext Paris: ETL) and Intersat, one of Africa’s leading providers of Internet solutions, have signed a multi-year deal representing several hundred Mbps to address the connectivity needs of enterprises, institutions and individuals in Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Senegal,

Under the agreement, which represents the totality of the available capacity over these countries, Intersat will leverage the unparalleled coverage and reach of EUTELSAT KONNECT to provide a robust and high-quality Internet service to customers located beyond the limits of terrestrial infrastructure.

Launch 2020: Europe’s Ambitions Frustrated by Pandemic, Booster Failure

Last year was a tough one for Europe in terms of launches. The COVID-19 pandemic closed the Guiana Space Centre for extended periods. And the most troubled of the three rockets launched from the spaceport had another bad day.

Despite the problems, there were seven launches from French Guiana in 2020, with six successes and one failure. Five of the flights involved European rockets, and two others were Russian Soyuz boosters.
