Sateliot Enters USA With the Accelerator of Giants Qualcomm and Verizon

OQ Technology, GovSat Sign MOU to Collaborate on IoT Products for Defence and Government Sectors

LUXEMBOURG, 29 September 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – OQ Technology, a Luxembourg-based satellite 5G IoT company, and GovSat, a public-private joint venture between the Luxembourg government and satellite operator SES, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on developing and testing satellite-based IoT (Internet of things) and machine-to-machine (M2M) products aimed at defence and government sectors.

By combining OQ Technology’s 5G products and services with GovSat’s end-to-end satcom solutions, already supporting customers such as NATO, the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Belgium Navy, the companies aim to offer highly scalable applications for air, land and maritime missions across the world. OQ Technology Reveals Patent Portfolio in the US and Europe to Improve Satellite Communications

LUXEMBOURG, 21 September 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – 5G satellite operator OQ Technology has revealed six pending patent applications in the USA and in Europe that will improve satellite-based IoT and M2M communications in remote locations. OQ Technology’s patent applications include a “wake-up” technology for satellite IoT (Internet of things) devices, IoT device localisation, frequency and timing synchronisation, inter-satellite link technology and satellite system design.

The various technologies within these applications allow customers of the Luxembourg company to receive better quality of service, save power and exchange data easier and more efficiently. They will be implemented onboard its planned satellite constellation in low Earth orbit (LEO). The first commercial IoT satellite of that constellation, OQ’s satellite Tiger-2, which was launched in June, performed well during the launch and early orbit phase (LEOP), and is now reaching the final stages of the payload commissioning phase.

Sateliot Obtains Authorization From Spanish Government to Initiate 5G-IoT Communications From Space

BARCELONA (Sateliot PR) — Sateliot – the satellite operator that will launch a constellation of nanosatellites to universalize the Internet of Things with 5G coverage – has obtained the provisional authorization from the Spanish Government, through the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation (Mineco), necessary to start its 5G-IoT services.

This authorization allows the different terrestrial terminals located in different points of the peninsular geography to connect to the signal offered by the satellite that Sateliot launched into space last March aboard the Soyuz rocket.

Rocket Lab Lands Multi-Launch Deal to Deploy Entire IoT Satellite Constellation for Kinéis

Long Beach, California. September 08, 2021 (Rocket Lab PR) – Rocket Lab USA, Inc (“Rocket Lab” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: RKLB), a leading launch provider and space systems company, today announced it has been awarded a contract to deploy an entire satellite constellation across five dedicated Electron missions for Kinéis, a global Internet-of-Things (IoT) connectivity provider. 

Scheduled for launch beginning in the second quarter of 2023, the constellation will enable Kinéis, a company backed by private and public investors including the French government’s space agency CNES (Centre National d’Études Spatiales) and CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellites) an international space-based solutions provider, to improve its global IoT connectivity. The multi-launch contract with Kinéis, which is subject to standard termination and launch rescheduling provisions, follows a similar bulk buy of launches earlier this year to deploy nine satellites across five dedicated Electron missions as part of a constellation for BlackSky, a provider of real-time geospatial intelligence and global monitoring services.

R3-IOT Secures $4.3M (£3.1M) Investment Led by US-based Space Capital

Seed investment round set to accelerate the company’s international growth strategy in Europe and North America, where its already seeing strong demand.

GLASGOW, Scotland (R3-IoT PR) — Satellite-enabled connectivity start-up, R3-IoT is gearing up for international expansion after closing a £3.1million ($4.3m) seed investment round led by US-based VC Space Capital, joined by the Scottish National Investment Bank.

OQ Technology Secures 5G Test Spectrum License, Establishes First European 5G Test Center for LEO satellites

LUXEMBOURG, July 7, 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – OQ Technology has been granted and experimental license for accessing critical satellite 5G frequencies by the Luxembourg Ministry of Media and Communication. The Luxembourg company also announced that it has established the first European 5G Satellite Test Centre (STC) for LEO (low Earth orbit) satellites. Both advancements, together with the successful launch of it’s first commercial 5G IoT satellite last week, are aimed at speeding up the company’s product development and global expansion.

With the 5G license, issued by the Luxembourg regulatory authority (ILR) in June, OQ Technology will be able to accelerate its service provisions for the Internet of things (IoT), including smart cars, drones, transport, logistics and maritime. especially in remote regions.  The license allows the company to test and improve its commercial product portfolio of 5G IoT user devices. OQ Technology will also be able to optimise its cell-tower 5G software stack aboard its satellites.

NanoAvionics to Add TIGER-2 Satellite to OQ Technology’s Growing 5G IoT Constellation

VILNIUS, Lithuania, 10 May 2021 (NanoAvionics PR) – NanoAvionics has signed a contract with OQ Technology, a multinational satellite Internet of Things (IoT) company, to build, integrate and operate a nanosatellite for their 5G IoT mission named Tiger-2.

The 6U satellite is the second mission for the Lithuanian smallsat bus manufacturer and mission integrator with OQ Technology and the latest addition to OQ Technology’s growing low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation of nanosatellites. Their constellation intends to provide basic commercial IoT and M2M services, using 5G connectivity, to customers with a focus on Africa, Middle East, Asia and Latin America.

Long March 2C Launches 3 Surveillance Satellites, Civilian Data Relay Spacecraft

A Long March 2C booster launched three Yaogan 30-07 surveillance satellites and a commercial data relay satellite on Friday. The launch was conducted from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center at 2:11 a.m. local time.

The three Yaogan 30-07 satellites will be primarily used for electromagnetic environment detection.

The fourth satellite Tianqi 12, a data relay satellite owned by Beijing-based Guodian Gaoke. The spacecraft is part of the company’s Apocalypse Internet of Things constellation.

The launch also featured some technology focused on returning the payload fairing, according to a press release about the mission from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Group.

“In this mission, the rocket fairing is equipped with an altimeter combination to measure the height change and some attitude information during the separation of the fairing and re-entry into the atmosphere, and continue to promote the parachute-based fairing debris landing zone control technology, to provide a reference for the subsequent design and improvement of the rocket landing zone control plan,” the press release said.

It was is the 369th flight of the Long March rocket series.

Sateliot, Together with Spanish Ministry of Defense, Promoting First IOT Nanosat Constellation for IoT and Secure Information Exchange

BARCELONA (Sateliot PR) — Sateliot, the satellite telecommunications operator, is preparing with a dozen companies and the Spanish Ministry of Defense -as a potential user- the deployment of a constellation of low-orbit nanosatellites that, in addition to the democratization of IoT with 5G coverage, will also enable a secure information exchange system using QKD quantum keys.

This is a cross-cutting project led by Sateliot, which will involve an investment of more than 176 million euros and has just been submitted to the Spanish Ministry of Industry as part of the Program for the Promotion of Industrial Competitiveness and Sustainability projects that will serve as a guide for the allocation of European Next Generation funds. With this project, the consortium seeks to position Spain as a world reference in 5G IoT constellations and secure global communications, enabling the Spanish industrial sector to digitize as a priority.

Gilmour Space to Launch Fleet Satellites in 2023

HELENSVALE, QLD, Australia, 31 March 2021 — Two of Australia’s New Space pioneers — Queensland-based rocket manufacturer Gilmour Space Technologies, and South Australian nanosatellite manufacturer for the Internet of Things (IoT), Fleet Space Technologies — are joining forces to launch small satellites to orbit.  

“We have signed a contract to launch six Fleet Space Centauri nanosatellites on our Eris rockets in 2023,” said Adam Gilmour, the CEO of Gilmour Space, which is tracking to launch its first commercial payloads to orbit next year.
