Roscosmos (Kinda) Congratulates NASA (Not SpaceX) on Crew Dragon Docking

The Twitter translation of this tweet reads:

Roscosmos congratulates @NASA with successful docking of the new ship and emphasizes that the safety of flights should be irreproachable.

The State Corporation welcomes the development of mutual relations in the field of space exploration and expresses its confidence that cooperation will develop

About an hour later, Roscosmos tweeted out a somewhat nicer message, although still neglecting to mention SpaceX:

Question: is the sort of waddling movement we see in the video normal for approaching ships?

  • Emmet Ford

Regarding the waddling movement, the docking adaptor soft capture ring on the space station is mounted on springs, which serve to absorb and attenuate the force of the impact that occurs at the conclusion of the “orbital hover slam.” Some jogging back and forth results.

Whenever the word ‘sincere’ is used it reminds me of the following lyrics:

“…I’ve always had a deep respect, and I mean that most sincere. The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think. Oh by the way, which one’s Pink?”

One expects “left-handed compliments” from long-time commies. Ignoring U.S. business enterprises is also unsurprising – particulary the one that has single-handedly gutted the Russian space launch industry. I think SpaceX will find itself quite able to bear up under the strain of Russian disapproval.

“Roscuss congratulates @NASA with successful docking of the new ship
and emphasizes that the safety of flights should be irreproachable.” …..Says the only space agency to have pranged a space station with another spacecraft…..

  • Mike Richards

Now be fair – *most* RosKosmos ships don’t have holes drilled through the walls.

  • Andrew Tubbiolo

Oh man I was not even thinking of that one, I was thinking of the Mir prang. Okay, so it’s two spacecraft.
