    No women or minorities?

  • Andrew Tubbiolo

I wonder if Zubritsky will be the fist Russian cosmonaut not born in the USSR. If not, I’ll bet he’s the first freeborn Ukrainian who makes it into space. Dang, all but two of them are young enough to be my kids.

  • Andrew Tubbiolo

Give it a while and they’ll all be minorities. They have a similar demographic turnover going on there as we do here on a similar schedule.

  • Emmet Ford

This will only cause our dear leader’s admiration to deepen.

  • ThomasLMatula

Seems the Russians have a simple explanation for why they are all male. 🙂

Russian women less eager to become cosmonauts than men — Roscosmos

    August 16, 23:41

“MOSCOW, August 16. /TASS/. Russian women are less
eager to become cosmonauts than men, said Sergei Krikalev, a former
cosmonaut who now oversees human spaceflight for the Russian space
    agency, Roscosmos.”

“One of the main requirements for those willing to join the crew is
determination, the desire to become a cosmonaut. Apparently, the
percentage of women willing to become cosmonauts is a bit lower,” the
official said in an interview, posted by Roscosmos on YouTube on
    Thursday.”

Well, I guess that explains it….
