• (Time for a bad joke)
The world’s first image of a Dreamchaser on its legs AFTER a glide test!

Now that the joke is out of the way: good job guys! Winged spaceflight may yet have a bright future!!!

Man, I’d hate/love to see the polar plot for that thing. That said, it runs to the right pretty darn far! Thinking about that, I’ll bet the speed axis has to be a log scale. …. I’d fly it.

Doug, this is just for runway based tow tests, right? Where they pull it up to speed with a pickup truck and then cut is loose to test steering and braking. If so, here is a video of such a test from 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4oQW_a7XkA

For a moment I thought that this is the real deal, but somehow the scale seems off.
Is this a subscale model? or just a photoshop fake?

I don’t know, actually. I just found it online and was wondering myself…

Hmmm. Okay, well — I simply found it by doing a Google image search for the terms “Dreamchaser Crash”. Following the link from the image search result, it looks like it’s real.

And Dream Chaser will use a new fuel called protoculture, which will cause it to be able to transform into a Veritech Alpha fighter plane.
