MOSCOW (RSC Energia PR) — Today, January 15, 2016, the jury, chaired by Director General, SC “Roskosmos” Igor Komarov announced the results of the contest for the best name for the new manned transport spacecraft Russia.

The winner was Andrew Smokotin from Kemerovo, first suggested the name “Federation”. The length of the ship – 6.1 meters. Rated overload during the descent – 3 g. To launch spacecraft into orbit is planned to use the carrier rocket heavy class “Angara-A5V.”

    The Angara 5P (slight mistake in the article there) won’t have an upper stage. They light all 5 engines on the ground, throttle down the central stage and use that as a second stage, with the remaining fuel. Reduces risk of stage separation and in-flight engine startup.
