The static firing was conducted at Vandenberg in advance of a launch set for Sunday, Sept. 15, at 12:00 p.m. EDT/9 a.m. PDT. Falcon 9 will launch CSA’s CASSIOPE spacecraft into a polar orbit.
UPDATE: In an interview with Fox Business News, Musk mentions that they hope to be able to launch in a week or two.
The upgraded Falcon 9 ver. 1.1 has more powerful engines, longer fuel tanks and other improvements.
