Fremont, Calif. (SFF PR) — The Space Frontier Foundation is happy to announce a deadline extension for submissions to the 2013 NewSpace Business Plan Competition. Participants will now have until August 29th, 2013 at 5:00pm (PST) to submit their Intent-to-compete form, a 3-page business plan summary and the $50 application fee. Finalists will compete for $135,000 in cash prizes in Silicon Valley in late October. Entries can be submitted by filling out this form on our customized Decision Desk platform.
“This competition is the only one of its’ kind: a professional business plan competition for any type of space or space-scalable company where REAL seed money will be awarded,” said Competition Director, Thomas A. Olson, “The $100,000 Grand Prize is enough to get actually get a business going or to take a start-up to the next level.”
“Finalists invited to present at the competition will also attend a NewSpace Boot Camp for the two days prior to the event,” said Boot Camp Manager Jeff Krukin. “They will refine their business plans and presentations, receive advice and strategic leadership from industry veterans and participate in valuable networking opportunities.”
This year, the Newspace Business Plan Competition and Boot Camp will be held in late October in California’s famed investor hot-spot, Silicon Valley. More details on the exact date and location of the competition will be released soon.
The competition is seeking entries from seed, startup, or early-growth firms from a number of fields. Irrespective of niche, applicants must be able to explain why their product or service helps with the economic development of space.
