Mojave Air and Space Port Looking for New Board Member

The Mojave Air and Space Port’s Board of Directors has an opening to fill. Anyone living within the district who wants to serve on the five-member board has until Dec. 26 to submit a letter of interest.  The board expects to fill the open seat at its Jan. 15 meeting.

The board seat opened up earlier this year after member Cathy Hansen resigned for personal reasons. Although Hansen was re-elected, she will not serve the two-year term. Incumbent Jim Balentine lost his bid for re-election to Allen Petersen, who began his term on Tuesday.

Balentine has said that he plans to apply for the appointment.

DECEMBER 10, 2012

Interested persons are hereby notified that there is a vacancy on the Mojave Air and Space Port Board of Directors. Once appointed, the new Board member will serve from the time of the appointment until the next General Election in November 2014.

Interested persons who are registered to vote within the District are requested to submit a letter of intent and resume via e-­‐mail to or mail to the following:

The deadline for receiving letters of interest is December 26, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.

It is anticipated that the Board of Directors will make the actual appointment at the January 15, 2013 Board of Directors meeting.
