Video Caption: 25 teams from around the world are currently building robots, rockets, and lunar landers to win the $30 million Google Lunar X PRIZE. Every year, we collect hardware video clips from the teams and showcase their progress.

This year shows some impressive advancements in the rover designs, propulsion and avionics technology. Teams are stepping it up as the competition thickens and with all the recent headlining developments, the Moon does not seem so far away.

    I’m very concerned for the teams trying to use quadrotors for this project…. Oh dear, should someone tell them?

    I would assume (and hope :p) that those are only testbeds to refine their GNC algorithms, but ever since ARCA fell for the pendulum rocket fallacy a while ago I’m no longer sure as to what knowledge is reasonable to consider a no brainer regarding the GLXP teams…
