Planetary Resources has a lot of ex-JPL employees who worked on Curiosity on its staff. At least six of them, five of whom appear in this video. Watch them discuss their experiences in landing a car on the Red Planet.

    Peter Illsley mentions a team of 30 people who worked on the chassis and interface control. It would be interesting to contrast this with how many folks Planetary Resources has working on similar tasks for their space craft. My bet is that they’ve found ways to use modern software tools to be much more efficient and productive at managing complexity.
