Skolkovo to Play Role in New Russian Space Policy

The strategy also provides for the development of technology transfer and support to small and medium enterprises working in the field of space activities.

The purpose of the Foundation – to mobilize resources of Russia in the field of modern applied research, create a favorable environment for scientific research in five priority areas of technological development: energy and energy efficiency, aerospace, biomedical, nuclear and computer technology.  The project involves the creation of Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skolteh), research institutes, business incubator, a center for technology transfer and commercialization offices of foreign companies and R & D-centers, residential and social infrastructure, as well as the subsequent distribution of an effective regime to the other innovative regions of Russia . The activities of the innovation center “Skolkovo” is governed by a special law, which provides its residents of special economic conditions.
