SSC to Unveil New Corporate Brand, U.S. Strategic Direction

SSC PR – Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 4, 2011) – SSC, formerly the Swedish Space Corporation, recently joined the Space Foundation as a Corporate Partner and plans to launch its new corporate brand at the 27th National Space Symposium, April 11-14, 2011.

“We are proud to join the Space Foundation as a partner and work together to share their mission to advance space-related endeavors that inspire, enable and propel humanity,” said Lars Persson, SSC president and CEO. “The National Space Symposium provides a strong platform to reach our customers and share our strategic direction for the future.”

“Having SSC as a Space Foundation Corporate Member underscores the increasing globalization of space – and the growing number of international companies that are part of our corporate base,” said Space Foundation Chief Executive Officer Elliot Pulham. “We are pleased that they have joined us and have chosen to launch their new brand at the 27th National Space Symposium.”

For more than 40 years, SSC has been a trusted partner in hundreds of successful space programs by providing cost-effective mission critical solutions for its customers. In 2009, after 10 years of close cooperation, SSC acquired Universal Space Network (USN), a vital partner in SSC’s global satellite ground station network, known as PrioraNet.

“USN has been a member of the Space Foundation for many years,” said Tom Ingersoll, president and CEO, USN. “As part of the SSC group, we look forward to continuing our relationship with the Foundation and launching the new brand at this year’s event.”

USN is the US-based component of PrioraNet, the largest commercial network for ground station services in the world. With contact from any orbit, PrioraNet offers unparalleled high-latitude coverage and equatorial stations in strategic locations, assuring greater than 99.5 percent reliability.

Other SSC companies including ECAPS, an innovative company offering proven, flight-demonstrated green propulsion technology, and NanoSpace, devoted to the development of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS)-based products will be featured at NSS as well.
