ROSCOSMOS PRESS RELEASE
Roscosmos Head Anatoly Perminov held a short briefing today after the session with the ISS crew at MCC.
Answering the questions of the journalists, Perminov said that the 2009 was positive for the Russian rocket and space industry in all its branches: the number of launches, the number of spacecraft orbited, and – the main thing – in maintaining safety of space operations.
Russian Government provided us with budgeting compliant with our request. Russian Ministries of economy and finance approved 2010’s programs wrt the appropriations available. I believe the situation will be the same in 2011. So, I can say, everything has been done to schedule and complete the steps under the Federal Space Program, Perminov said.
Roscosmos Head also informed that new Russian module MRM-1 will be delivered to the ISS next year.
Two Russian research modules are to be functioning in the station in June 2010. We also began prelaunch processing of the large Russian module. By the end of 2011, all Russian scientific equipment will be delivered to the ISS, so we would be able to enhance our scientific program. If the decision is made to prolong ISS life, our equipment is to be used for science until 2020.
