Testing Continues on New Engine for Angara, Upgraded Soyuz Rockets

Development tests of the new liquid-propellant rocket engine to be used for Soyuz-2-1b and Angara are continued at KBKhA company, Voronezh.

The forth fire test of the engine sample (750 sec) was carried out yesterday to test thrust and component ratio. Operation time of the engine in the facility reach 3000 sec, which is equal to 11 flight operation times.

In parallel, the company assembles the engine model for Soyuz-2-1b launcher. Two successful launches of the rocket with Voronezh’s engines in the third stages were carried out in 2006 and 2008.
